Impact of Social Media

What is a media persona?

From my opinion, a media persona is someone hiding their true self. They'e putting on an action through media because either their afraid to show their true self or hiding something that's been done and they are afraid to show it.

How does social media fit into the professional world?

Now a days, social media fits into the professional world in so many ways. With all the latest social networking sites like facebook, twitter, myspace, etc, pictures and information can be posted about people. With this technology and advantage, bosses and co-workers or just strangers can search up a person and can probably view a picture or get info on the person. In most ways this can be a negative turnout for the person due to the fact that "bad" pictures or "false" information can be publicized without them knowing or just simply because a boss or co-worker saw something they didn't like and for that the person wouldn't be hired. Racism can also play a key role with social media and the professional world. Someone seeking an employee can search the person for information and might come across a picture of example a black person and just because of that they wouldn't hire the person.
